About Ruth McNamara

Ruth McNamara is a Partner in EY’s Financial Services Assurance practice, specialising in the insurance sector. With over 15 years of experience across external audit and industry, Ruth has worked with life, non-life, and reinsurance clients in both Ireland and Canada.

Ruth’s background includes working with leading insurers and Big Four firms, giving her a strong understanding of both local and global regulatory environments. She has deep expertise in IFRS, FRS 102/103, Solvency II, and the evolving ESG and sustainability reporting landscape—helping clients prepare for new standards with confidence.

Ruth is known for her collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality assurance and advisory services to clients navigating complex regulatory change.

A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Ruth also holds a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from University College Dublin (UCD).
